You can get around it by holding the door release lever open as if you were trying to get out of the car and then manually locking it. To lock the doors insert the key into the lock on the driver s door and rotate the key counterclockwise until you hear the doors lock. Its a honda thing.

I have an aftermarket power door lock that i got from bestbuy but removed the little unit that joins the rods together. It cannot be unlocked with my key from inside the car or by removing the interior handle lock cover and trying to manipulate it. After the first two weeks the arm disarm button would arm disarm the alarm but it would not lock unlock the doors also the driver and passenger interior door lock switches stopped working completely.
